Channel Scan depends on the Scan ini files in the ./BDA and sub directories.
./BDA
/ATSC (North America)
/DVB-C (Digital Cable)
/DVB-T (Digital Terrestrial)
/DVB-S (Digital Sattellite)

File format
The scan file format is the TechnoTrend ini format. It is widely used by DVB-S software. TechnoTrend was a German company that made the first DVB-S, DVB-T and DVB-C PCI TV Cards. These Cards was OEM labeled by Hauppauge. TechnoTrend was purchased by the Portugees company Novabase, that terminated the TechnoTrend PC product line.
DVB-T - Digital Terrestrial
Each country shall have a DVB-T ini file with all frequencies used in that country. If your country is not listed, you can use the All Regions - All Channels file.
But scanning all frequencies will take som time, so ini files for a specific location will reduce scan time drastically.
Example of a DVB-T scan file
[TERTYPE]
1=Southern England
2=Crystal Palace
[DVB]
;Position = Channelname,Frequency(KHz),Inversion(0,1),0,Bandwidth (7MHz=7, 8MHz=8)
0=7
1=C25,505834,0,0,8
2=C22,481834,0,0,8
3=C32,561834,0,0,8
4=C28,529834,0,0,8
5=C34,578166,0,0,8
6=C29,537834,0,0,8
7=C31,554000,0,0,8
DVB-C - Digital Cable
Every Cable Network use their own frequencies, symbol rate and modulation, so a scan file for a cable network needs to be network specific.
Example of a DVB-C scan file
[CABTYPE]
1=Germany
2=Kabel Deutschland
[DVB]
